Ceylon Petroleum Corporation, sometimes referred to as CEYPETCO (CPC), is an oil and gas business in Sri Lanka. Founded in 1962 and owned entirely by the Sri Lankan government. It is Sri Lanka's largest oil corporation. It was established in 1961 by the nationalization and expropriation of all private oil businesses operating in Sri Lanka at the time. It is owned by the Ministry of Petroleum Resources Development, which has its corporate headquarters in Colombo. With an operational profit of Rs. 33.9 billion for the fiscal year 2020, it is the biggest government-owned corporation in the nation. 


With CPC, the Sri Lankan government receives a sizable cash stream; the company's dividends account for 30% of the government's budget.
